Job Description

  • Oversee project construction contractor(s) through the construction process, to include responsibility for scope, budget, schedule, and quality adherence, in accordance with the contract documents and established procedures.

  • Ensure the timely completion of all construction phase support services in accordance with the written project and construction documents.

  • As directed, participate in design reviews with an eye on constructability, staging, phasing, and construction methods.

  • Oversee and ensure the adequate inspection by project inspection staff of all construction activities.

  • Coordinate and schedule construction activities, inspections and testing with contractors, tenants, customers, client, and other stakeholders.

  • Review project baseline schedules for accuracy and compliance with contract documents.

  • Track contractor resources and progress against baseline schedule and three week look-ahead schedules.

  • Proactively manage risk and resolve issues to minimize client exposure.

  • Proactively work to avoid claims and assist the Sr. Project Manager in resolving claims expeditiously to minimize client exposure.

  • Prepare and submit to the Sr. Project Manager daily, weekly and/or monthly report(s) as directed which detail the progress, accomplishments, issues, and current status of the project.

  • Supervise and ensure the correction of non-conforming work.

  • As directed, assist in the development of RFQ’s and RFP’s and provide support during the procurement process.

  • Review payment applications from, and verify progress of, construction contractors. Reconcile discrepancies with the contractor and recommend payment to Sr. Project Manager.

  • As directed, provide support to the proposed settlement of change orders, claims and revisions to the construction contract schedule and budget. Evaluate and provide recommendations to the Sr. Project Manager for changes and/or modifications to the construction contractor scope of services.

  • Work closely with the Sr. Project Manager and Project Manager to ensure the successful delivery of each assigned project.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project or Construction Management or related field.

  • Minimum of twenty (20) years of experience in managing construction projects of similar size, type and complexity, with at least ten (10) of those years in aviation preferred but not required.

  • Professional certification in Construction Management preferred but not required.

  • Knowledgeable and experienced in managing the construction and completion of projects.

  • Must be able to pass applicable background check(s) and obtain permit(s) to access secure areas of an airport.

  • Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
