Job Description

SUMMARY

Responsible for the management of all design phase services for one or more projects in accordance with the written project/design documents and established policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide oversight of project design consultant(s) an all design and submittal reviews.

  • Lead the oversight and management of the planning and design process, including coordinated review of planning and design drafts with client departments, stakeholders and applicable governing agencies.

  • Evaluate and provide recommendations to Sr. Project Manager __ for changes and/or modifications to the design consultant scope of services.

  • Monitor project design, cost and schedule control vs. project budget.

  • As directed, review payment applications from, and verify progress of, planning and/or design consultants, and recommend payment to Sr. Project Manager.

  • Provide support in the proposed settlement of change orders, claims and revisions to the planning or design contract schedule and budget.

  • As requested, assist in the development of RFQ’s and RFP’s and provide support as requested during the procurement process.

  • As requested, support the negotiation of planning and/or design phase services, consultant fees and change orders, provide documentation and recommend course of action.

  • Provide (or oversee provision of) construction support/administration services to include responding to all Requests for Information (RFI’s,) Submittals, shop drawings and other design-related inquiries.

Qualifications

  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer or Architect, as appropriate.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture, with advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in managing design projects of similar size, type and complexity.

  • Knowledgeable and experienced in managing all aspects of project planning and design.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
