Job Description
Job Summary
To control and monitor all commercial aspects in the delivery of project throughout the construction life cycle of the project. To undertake cost management at pre-contract stage and post contract stage. Ensuring project costs, budgets and cash flow compliance, all within Company and Client Protocols and Procedures. With a focus on building asset projects.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist Directors in leading and delivery of all aspects of quantity surveying from inception of a project through to completion.
Experienced in working collaboratively within a team of professionals delivering cost management and consultancy services.
Possess sound knowledge and experience of all building works elements – enabling works, substructure & superstructure, facades, finishes, FF&E, external works, etc.
Produces cost estimates at concept, scheme and detailed design stage, and is able to manage and oversee the production of a detailed BOQ for tender.
Manage the tender process, review and analyze tender returns and prepare a recommendation to the client.
Working knowledge of industry recognized Contract forms (FIDIC) and standard methods of measurement including POMI and NRM.
Sound knowledge in the use CostX software in the cost estimating process.
Support in benchmarking, data collection, and internal financial reporting.
Assesses and values progress payments and change requests.
Reviews and compares scopes of work, production rates, and cost data.
Prepares, reviews, and updates cash-flows.
Estimates variation orders for Subcontractors/GC Contractors.
Reviews and evaluates payment certificates for Subcontractors/GC Contractor.
Evaluates and negotiates variations and change orders in liaison with the Contract Administrator, Commercial Manager, Design and Construction Team.
Evaluates and negotiates final accounts settlements.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying and/or Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited, internationally recognized institution or University.
Working towards MRICS or equivalent accreditation preferred
Minimum 8 years experience post graduation
