Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Engineer - Planning to join our dynamic team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the successful planning and execution of engineering projects by leveraging your expertise in financial analysis, project management, and resource allocation.

  • Develop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) for small to medium-sized projects

  • Analyze project financial data and identify potential impacts on project outcomes

  • Assist in establishing project baseline data using drawings and specifications

  • Conduct cost and schedule variance analyses to ensure project efficiency

  • Collect and analyze progress data, reviewing performance trends to support decision-making

  • Apply earned value, scope control, and change management methodologies

  • Analyze manpower, labor hours, and labor costs against budget limitations

  • Track purchase order and subcontract commitments and expenditures

  • Support the project reporting process and participate in project cost review meetings

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of project goals and timelines

  • Assist in trend analysis and forecasting to optimize project performance

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of planning processes and tools

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field)

  • Proficiency in financial and cornerstone systems used in project management

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial data analysis

  • Experience in developing Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and project baseline data

  • Familiarity with earned value concepts, scope control, and change management methodologies

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze cost and schedule variances

  • Experience in collecting and analyzing progress data and performance trends

  • Proficiency in project management software and tools

  • Strong mathematical and statistical skills for data analysis and forecasting

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Outstanding organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Knowledge of purchase order and subcontract tracking processes

  • Familiarity with project revenue and cost concepts

  • Adaptability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
