AECOM Engineer - Mechanical in Doha, Qatar
Qatar - Ad Dawhah, Doha
Responsible for assisting the Engineer in the production of design information while building professional competence in the discipline.
Design expectation incl pump stations piping and equipment sizing and selection (Foul, storm, water, irrigation and fire) along with various MEP systems such as HVAC, Fire Fighting (Sprinkler systems) and plumbing works etc.
Develops analytical and design skills.
Assists with the design content by applying both design and technical knowledge to ensure production of high quality
outputs in accordance with project timelines.
Develops designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, and project BIM models, and exported schematic and final working
drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Performs work under supervision in accordance with a schedule and with an understanding of the budget.
Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer. When possible, collects and analyses
information from discipline and interdisciplinary project BIM models
Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
Coordinates with other discipline engineers as applicable for the continuity of the design process. Coordination tasks
include the development of sketches, diagrams and BIM spatial reviews (virtual walkthroughs and clash detection)
Participates in design progress and coordination meetings.
Checks and ensures quality of model production by Revit/CAD teams for accuracy to design instructions
Actively seeks information, opportunities to participate and contribute, and develops efficiencies and effectiveness.
Maintains and develops the highest level of technical skills and abilities.
Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.
Identifies discrepancies in results.
Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.
- 2+ years experience in a similar role
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
