AECOM Design Manager, Qatar in Doha, Qatar

Job Summary

AECOM is currently seeking to hire Design Manager for Doha location. Architect with extensive experience in site and design management of complex construction projects. Expertise in managing design change, controlling budgets and assuring on-time completion. Committed to sustainability, safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Multi-lingual communicator capable of managing relationships with clients, contractors and colleagues. Proven competency in managing and supervising site works with design build contractors and consultants.

Job Duties:

  • Manage a team of architects Landscape Architects.

  • Manage the Design Build Process and oversee the design produced prior submission to Client. From schematic design stages till IFC and shop drawings. Supervise and ensure a clash free design utilizing BIM tools.

  • Supervision of architectural construction works.

  • Conduct Design Task Force meetings of all trades

  • Supervise design teams, determine training needs and delegate team efforts appropriately.

  • Initiate technical design review workshops.

  • Coordinate design teams and schedule building processes to assure on-time project completion as per design and construction milestones.

  • Monitor construction building progress and compliance with safety and quality regulations

  • Conduct site visits to interact with engineers, contractors and construction personnel

  • Manage the design process of all trades and review the design stages produced by our designer Dar Al

  • Address issues and technical problems efficiently to prevent schedule delays

  • Manage the review of shop drawings and construction works.

  • Ensured design process complied with regulations, standards and codes of practice and legislation

  • Managed high quality and efficient design projects to keep pace with schedules and dead lines

  • Liaised with major contractors and handled construction mitigation planning sequence scenarios

  • Attended weekly PWA meetings with Head of Infrastructure, O&M and Transportation

  • Developed Design Coordinated Interface Documents to align with employer requirements

  • Developed Interface Management Plan to monitor status of interface agreements and provide ongoing updates to project managers as necessary

Specific Skills Required:

  • AutoCAD 2D, 3D Basic 3D Studio Max, Autodesk Revit Certified User, Photoshop, Flash MX (Certified), Networking and Microsoft Office, ComplyPro, Qpro, Navisworks, Microsoft Project, Primavera

Minimum Requirements

  • 15 years’ experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Architecture with 15 years’ experience.
