Supply Technician AA&E (SAAS-MOD Operator) in
Reports directly to the Warehouse/Munitions Lead for instructions and ammunition handling procedures for the APS-5, Ammo section. Responsible for ammunition stock control and magazine maintenance duties which include but not limited to scheduling of reports, maintenance of files, reconciliation and ammunition shipments. The Supply Technician AA&E (SAAS-MOD Operator) operates the Standard Ammunition and Accounting System-Modernized (SAAS-MOD) computer hardware and software and utilizes manual records to perform stock control and accounting procedures for ammunition, explosives, and associated explosive components. Perform ammunition supply stock control and accounting duties using both automated and manual procedures. Maintain hardware and software systems and manual records required to successfully perform stock control and accounting procedures for ammunition and explosives.
Perform safe handling procedures and explosive safety requirements for the issue, receipt, storage, maintenance, and transportation of ammunition.
Must be able to be active in collecting transactions affecting asset visibility, serial numbers, condition codes, lot number identification by class and compatibility group, and DODIC data/transfer as required IAW AR-, AR-, AR-, DA PAM- and DOT Regulations.
Perform Supply receiving, storage, and shipping tasks as required.
Escort, loading, and unloading trucks in the ASP.
Maintain magazine data cards and planographs on location and update as necessary.
Sort, visually inspect and locate items by DODIC, lot number and condition codes.
Perform magazine and lock maintenance as directed.
Perform location surveys and sensitive item inventories as directed.
Must know the proper procedures for operating equipment while working in the ASP.
Perform other duties and assignments as assigned.
Serves as Supply Technician AA&E (SAAS MOD Operator) who reports to the Ammunition Lead is responsible for planning and accomplishing inventories of all stocks; managing, coordinating, and controlling requirements, receipt, issue, transfer, location change, disposition of ammunition, turn-in residue, ammunition components and packing materials; and providing technical assistance and guidance in using automated Standard Army Ammunition System Modernization (SAAS-MOD) system.
Provides for and participates in planning and coordinating of ammunition inventory activities necessary to insure the proper carrying out of the overall inventory functions.
Conducts causative research on stock record balances not agreeing with inventory counts.
Provides detailed comparisons from available information sources to include historical records and SAAS-MOD transaction files.
Uses available resources to resolve errors and determines cause of discrepancies and adjustments required to bring stock records into agreement with inventories.
Preparation of various ammunition transaction documents pertaining to receipts, issues, location changes, turn-ins, shipments, maintenance and inventory adjustment of ammunition items.
Conducts causative research required to correct discrepancies.
Reviews data input, reports, change packages, day-to-day operations, etc., and makes recommendations to resolve problems to the Ammunition Lead.
Verifies accuracy of inbound/outbound paperwork. When required, loads change package, uploads inventory data, runs reports and provides supply technical advice on stock record control operations to co-workers and customers.
Provides and assists the Accountable Officer (AO), Ammo NCO, COR, and Ammunition Lead in maintaining accountability for all ammunition, missiles/rockets, residue, components and packing materials stored at ASP sites.
Provides SAAS-MOD automated system training for new users.
Provides technical assistance in using the various programs in order to maintain a complete and accurate data base.
Ensures that all documentation is properly prepared prior to processing through automated system operations.
Prepares and ensures that all daily, weekly and monthly files and reports are transmitted to the appropriate offices.
Coordinates with other operation personnel for smooth operation of ammunition projects concerned with requirements, receipt, shipping, re-warehousing, issue, turn-in, and disposition of material.
Performs other duties and assignments as assigned.
Must have ACTIVE US Secret Clearance and the ability to acquire and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC)
A valid US driver’s license is required, and must be able to obtain Qatar Driver’s License
Must be US citizen
Must have valid US Passport with at least 6 months validity before expiring
Three years of supply and logistical experience in the U.S. military or equivalent.
Must have Ammunition and Explosives Safety experience to work in the ASP.
Knowledge of the procedures for ammunition safety and handling in the ASP. Employees are required to assist in this operation at all times.
Three years’ experience in ammunition storage, issue, receipt, preparation, safety and accountability procedures.
Must have a thorough knowledge of ammunition accountability and operations.
Must be capable of input and retrieval of data from Stock Control System and have the ability to generate/produce data and reports needed for all required operations.
Must remain current with new and changing functions of the SAAS-MOD system and must train on new supply systems as directed by the U.S. Army if SAAS-MOD is replaced or modified.
SAAS-MOD Operator must have a thorough knowledge of read/write capability through the SAAS-MOD Standard Army Management Information Systems (STAMIS).
MS Office suite expertise is required as well as excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
Fluent in English as exemplified in writing and in verbal skills.
Must be able to work independently and as a team member.
