AECOM ESH Manager in Camp Arifjan, Kuwait

Job Summary

URS has an immediate opening for an ESH Manager in Kuwait.

EXPAT Citizenship required.

The ESH Manager will operate independently from the local management with a direct line of communication to the corporate Quality Office. The ESH Manager is responsible for implementing a standardized Environmental Safety and Health Program, which is Management System based. Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in managing large environmental, safety and health programs for industrial operations. Must have the experience and knowledge to implement a large-scale industrial program using industry best practices in order to comply with DoD, OSHA, OEBGD, ISO 9001:2008 and 14001 standards, hazardous waste management, and other applicable Federal regulations. Provides training and best practices to managers and supervisors on accident prevention and develops measures to prevent recurrence of reportable incidents, is responsible for all aspects of the ISO compliance and the establishment of internal environmental processes/controls. The ESH Manager is directly responsible for all data and reporting of injuries/accidents, illnesses in a timely, complete, and accurate manner. The ESH Manager must also have a working knowledge of any required safety management system automation required. Additionally, the ESH Manager must possess the appropriate verbal and written communication skills to conduct meetings, execute plans, prepare reports, plans, and working instructions.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Sciences or demonstrated equivalent.

  • Possess a minimum of seven (7) years of directly related ESH management experience. Additional experience with proven track record may be substituted for education.

  • Must have intermediate or better level competency in computer skills and programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Certification as CIH, CSP, OHST, CHMM, or PE is desired.

  • Candidates without professional certification will be expected to achieve certification within 6 months of hire.

  • Candidate must possess a valid, state-issued driver’s license with clean driving record.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Work week is 72 hours with Sundays off. Internal office environment with typical ergonomic conditions; external environment with extreme summer temperatures and occasional windy conditions with dust; occasional lifting to 20 pounds, frequent sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness; must possess excellent planning/organizational skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
