Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity in Afghanistan on the EAGLE contract for an

Site Manager . Oversees the operational, administrative, and multi-logistical missions for the southern region of Afghanistan. Coordinates/integrates all mission support required in the Performance Work Statement (PWS) for contract requirements at KAF and the S/W region, acting as the focal point for site Military leadership in support of those requirements. Ensures proper division of workload based on mission support requirements. Ensures the efficient and productive utilization of resources. Submits reports and deliverables for FOB Operations in support of the PWS and the contract. Coordinates closely with PMO and Contracts on scenarios involving the ACO/COR. Works closely with supported departments to ensure PWS and contractual requirements are met. Interviews, hires and retains qualified personnel to facilitate the completion of contract requirements. Supervises, trains, and mentors subordinate Managers and Supervisors. Works closely with the ACO, CORs, QAs, and AFSBn-AFG Command staff to resolve issues at the lowest levels. Continually communicates and engages customers (i.e., Task Force, Military units, Area Support Group, and support agencies). Works with the CORs to ensure issues are resolved prior to escalation and issuance of Corrective Action Responses (CARs). Ensure strict compliance to safety and security practices and support the AC FIRST Policies and Procedures. In stills a safety-first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries. Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of the AC FIRST Quality Management System. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s license required.

  • Must be Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certified or obtained within 90 days after arrival in country.

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.

  • Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements and/or educational achievements may be substituted for years of experience. Example: Two (2) years of experience is equivalent to (2) years of college and vice versa.

  • 7-10 years of progressive Project Management experience with at least 5 years in management, is required.

  • Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements and/or educational achievements may be substituted for years of experience. Example: Two (2) years of experience is equivalent to (2) years of college and vice versa.

  • Must have advanced knowledge of best practice human resources policies and procedures.

  • Must have conflict resolution skills.

  • Knowledge of relevant employment and industrial legislation.

  • Proficiency in a variety of PC-based business applications.

  • Experience in organizational development and cultural change management.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with all levels of the business.

  • Strong discretion and independence.

  • Solid decision making skills.

  • Advanced proficiency in the use of MS Office, including Word, Excel, Power Point and other related applications required.

  • Must have the English language speaking ability to speak the language with sufficient structural accuracy and vocabulary to participate effectively in most formal and informal conversations on practical, social, and professional topics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • 10 years of civilian or military experience working directly with or in support of Department of Defense, is preferred.

  • Preferred experience with multi-logistics operations.
