AECOM has an exciting opportunity in Afghanistan on the Eagle contract for a Senior Systems Engineer. The Engineer oversee the development and installation of new hardware and software. Install and configure operating systems and other software and routinely test installed software for glitch detection and other issues. Provide technical direction to Business Communications’ support staff. Ensure constant availability of technical resources. Design and implement security systems and redundant backups to maintain data safety. Write custom scripts to reduce the need for human intervention. Provides guidance and assistance to assigned personnel on current principles, practices, and procedures to be employed, quality of work expected and tools to be used. Plans work schedules, sequence of operations and distribution of work. Designates workers, assigns work, explains work equirements, procedures and assists with resolving problems. Develops, administers and establishes written standard operating procedures. Delivers written, verbal and hands on assistance. Troubleshoots on Logistics Information System (LIS)equipment. Offers quality research, analysis, reporting and recommendations in response to requests for review. Comments on issues directly or indirectly related to AC FIRST Commercial and LIS systems. Provides management, and customers, with basic logistics technology and information assistance that ensures effective and economical support for systems. Provides logistic service support sequences and time phasing, problems arising from location of operational areas and other factors, such as environmental and human factors affecting AC FIRST Commercial and LIS operations. Participates in planning and policy development issues IAW SEC-LEE.Provides regular reporting to senior management on LIS issues. Provides advice and guidance to leads and technicians about changes in operational procedures. Makes recommendations and provides guidance to support operations for hardware and software acquisitions. Distributes new Army LIS/equipment to Sustainment Automation Support Management Office (SASMO) customers; Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) and Incremental Change Packages (ICP) to LIS customers. Maintains Historical Library of System Software and Change Packages.Maintains and issues Logistic Information System (LIS) “Floats”, monitors Contract and Maintenance Support (Maintenance Repair), restores equipment to operation, troubleshoots automation equipment and systems to degree required for isolation of malfunctions. Ensures all work will be documented on OnPoint through the work order processEnsure strict compliance to safety practices and support the AC FIRST Safety Policies and Procedures. Instills a safety-first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries.Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of the AC FIRST Quality Management System.Occasional overnight travel to locations supported by AC FIRST. Performs other duties as assigned.

Must be able to obtain appropriate certification in accordance with DOD 8570 for IAT Level II (GSEC, Security+ ce, SCNP, SSCP) within 90 days is required
Two or more of the following certifications, or a higher-level certification is highly preferred:
MCSA: Windows 10
MCSA: Windows Server 2008
MCSA: Windows Server 2012
Cisco Certified Network Associate
Cisco Certified Network Professional c) Valid Driver’s license may be required
Information Technology-related Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2-3 years’ experience in Systems Administration, Windows Server, and Windows Operating Systems b) 5 years’ experience as Systems Engineer or equivalent required
5 years’ experience in CSSAMO or SASMO as skilled software, hardware LIS technician preferred d) US Army MOS 92A or 25B preferred.
1-3 years Sustainment Automation Support Management Office (SASMO) Helpdesk experience preferred
Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements and/or educational achievements may be substituted for years of experience. Example: Two (2) years of experience is equivalent to (2) years of college and vice versa
Advanced working knowledge of Active Directory required
Functional knowledge in operating all LIS systems required.
Functional knowledge of SARSS-1, SARSS-2A, VSAT, Net term and Networking. d) VSAT, net term and networking highly preferred.
Must have the ability to work on a computer for long periods of time and communicate with individuals by telephone, e-mail and face-to-face.
Must be able to work effectively with all levels of employees, including top, middle and supervisory levels of management.
Requires a collaborative work style, fostering cooperation and teamwork.
Must be able to prioritize responsibilities to accommodate a demanding workload.
Must have strong analytical skills, including the ability to extract, compile and analyze data. j) Requires proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and related applications.
Must be detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy. l) Driver’s license may be required.
Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively during a 77-hour work week. b) Must be able to lift 25 lbs. continuously, 50 lbs. intermittently.
Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures. d) Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
- Prior contracting experience preferred.
