AECOM Inspector Howitzer Repair in Bagram, Afghanistan

Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity in Afghanistan on the EAGLE contract for a Inspector Howitzer Repair . The Inspector performs initial inspections to determine the nature and extent of Howitzer­weapon system repairs required. Performs final inspections on weapon system after repairs have been­ completed.­ The Inspector disassembles and examines parts and assemblies as required and­reassembles and adjusts components. Determines serviceability of parts and diagnoses and determines remedies­for failures commonly encountered in the repair of weapon systems using a variety of diagnostic techniques and TMDE with little or no supervision.­Prepares records of inspection/tests and makes them available to the QA/QC Department. Safely uses common hand tools and shop equipment effectively without­assistance. May instruct other employees in proper repair maintenance procedures. Cross trains when required to ensure maximum flexibility and possession of­technical skills in the development and maintenance of quality programs. Ensures compliance with government and corporate regulations, company

­SOPs, directives, and technical manuals to establish and maintain a quality management program. Coordinates with Shop Supervisor when technical problems arise and in-­depth mechanical knowledge is required. Maintains cross-talk with QA and LAR representatives. Conducts surveillances and performs other administrative duties as required within the Quality Control Office.

­Ensures strict compliance to safety practices and support the AC FIRST­ Safety Policies and Procedures. Instills a safety first mentality within respective work areas and a culture­that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries. Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of the­AC FIRST Quality Management System. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • ­3-5 years’ experience in Howitzer Armament Systems at DS/GS level

  • ­required on M119 105MM, M198 155MM and M777 155MM Howitzer.

  • ­1-3 years inspection experience required.

  • ­U.S. Army MOS 45K, 91F or USMC MOS 2131 required.

  • ­Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements and/or

  • ­educational achievements may be substituted for years of experience.

  • ­Example: Two (2) years of experience is equivalent to (2) years of college

  • ­and vice versa.

  • ­Must complete a Quality Control Inspector PQS test within 30 days of hire.

  • ­Must have knowledge of diagnostic tools and forms used at the unit and

  • ­DS/GS level.

  • ­Must have good knowledge of tools and repair equipment.

  • ­Must be able to read and understand Howitzer weapon system schematics.

  • ­Must have thorough knowledge of military technical publications.

  • ­Must have a collaborative work style that fosters cooperation and team work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Overseas experience a plus.
