Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity in Afghanistan on the EAGLE contract for a Heavy Equip Lead Mechanic . The Lead performs a full range of overhaul, repair, and service of all engineer/ heavy equipment maintenance at theField and Sustainment level of Maintenance.Performs maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on various pieces of heavy equipment including but not

limited to military and civilian heavy equipment.Oversees the tool room operations.4Required to gain access to GCSS-A, IGC, FedMall, LIW and WEBVLIPs for parts and document research.Generates GCSS-A reports as required.

Responsible for assigning your personnel into the correct work center in GCSS-A.Responsible for creating and changing your personnel’s work schedules in GCSS-A as required.Responsible for managing your shops GCSS-A Equipment Status Report (ESR) and the ability to briefstatuses of equipment on order in GCSS-A.Constantly monitors repair activities to ensure all procedures are performed safely.Plans work schedules, sequence of operations and distribution of work.

Designates workers, assigns work, explains work requirements, and assists in resolving problems. Immediately stops all unsafe actions. Reviews accuracy of work and ensures conformance to required standards. Prepares reports and briefings as required. Conducts cross training for other employees. Assist the Supervisor with assigning and monitoring the work load.

Ensure strict compliance to safety practices and support the AC FIRST Safety Policies and Procedures.

Instills a safety first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident ratesand minimal lost-time injuries. Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of the AC FIRST QualityManagement System. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • NACI / Tier 1 for US Citizens and PCC for Non US Citizens

  • Valid Driver’s license required.

  • Must be able to obtain USG GCSS-A certification within 90 days.

  • Must be able to complete General Trade Skills PQS within 30 days of hire.

  • Must be able to acquire a military driver’s license (OF 346).

  • Must be able to obtain a 5984-E Army Standard license.Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Vocational Education or manufacture training in heavy equipment repair preferred.

  • Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements and/or educational achievements may be

  • substituted for years of experience. Example: Two (2) years of experience is equivalent to (2) years of college

  • and vice versa.

  • 4 years’ experience as a heavy equipment mechanic required.

  • Army MOS 52C/91C or equivalent training required.c) Knowledgeable and highly skilled in the use and operation of Global Combat Support System- Army

  • (GCSS-A).

  • Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements and/or educational achievements may

  • be substituted for years of experience. Example: Two (2) years of experience is equivalent to (2) years of

  • college and vice versa.

  • Global Combat Support System- Army (GCSS-A).

  • Logistics Information Warehouse (LIW) Capabilities such as:

  • Integrated Logistic Analysis Program (ILAP).

  • Must be able to pass Supervisor and GCSS-A specific Skill PQS within 30 days of hire and as required

  • throughout period of employment.

  • d) Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, Project, SharePoint, and other software

  • programs

  • Must have the ability to analyze and interpret US Army Technical Manuals with relation to vehicle

  • Requires a collaborative work style, fostering cooperation, and teamwork.

  • Must have the English language speaking ability to speak the language with sufficient structural accuracy

  • and vocabulary to participate effectively in most formal and informal conversations on practical, social, and

  • professional topics. Must be able to read standard newspaper items addressed to the general reader, routine

  • correspondence, reports, and technical materials in the individual's special field.

Preferred Qualifications
