AECOM Medical Equipment Engineer, Jordan in Amman, Jordan

Job Summary

Reports to the Project Lead/ Senior Discipline Architect / Manager on site; oversees, reviews & manages and monitors implementation of the construction documents on site; would be responsible to manage teams of discipline Inspectors on site; and support the Project Lead/ Senior Discipline Architect / Manager technically and liaises with the design office, contractor and client counterparts to ensure that the construction is carried out in accordance with plans and specifications.

Job Duties:

  • The incumbent performs a broad cross-section of complex technical and administrative activities requiring extensive experience and specialization in Contract Compliance, Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) inspection of electrical scope related to the project

  • Analyses applicable codes, standards and project contract documents and monitors construction activities to ensure compliance with contract documents.

  • Interprets or clarifies contract documents for Contractors.

  • Maintains and prepares a variety of records, including daily/weekly progress reports, material accounting records, change orders and record drawings.

  • Provide assistance to the Project Architect /Site Engineer.

  • Responsible for supervising, directing and coordinating the inspection team.

  • Conduct weekly meetings with inspectors and Project Architect.

  • Ensuring that responses are complete and in compliance with the contract documents. Where problems are found, work with Project Architect and Engineers to resolve.

  • Audit inspections for conformity to contract documents and contractor submitted plans.

  • Assist the Senior Architect & Engineers to identify, respond to or evaluate technical issues to maintain the schedule.

  • Highlights any violations to medical equipment installation and pre-installation during construction, and any related issues with architectural and/or building engineering coordination on site through issuance of NCRs

  • Specific Skills Required:

  • Site experience in basic design requirements, estimation, installation and all site activities related to all medical equipment planning and installation works for construction of large-scale building projects.

  • Familiar with all the medical equipment installation and Architectural construction methodologies as well as the corresponding equipment, materials, consumables, tools and manpower allocations related to medical equipment installation works for building projects.

  • Well versed in interpreting and executing medical equipment drawings, room data sheets, schedules and specifications and coordinating with architects, building engineering disciplines and bio-medical equipment vendors.

  • Have the knowledge of the related authorities requirements

  • Proven track record in healthcare/clinical laboratory projects.

  • Good team player with high energy levels. Able to supervise a team of inspectors efficiently and competently

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years demonstrable experience in the design and all aspects of supervision and project administration of the medical equipment planning and installation works related to large-scale projects within Middle East in the consulting industry

  • Experience in Life Sciences / Clinical Laboratory projects desirable

  • Facilities transition planning experience desirable

  • Additional experience in nursing or Healthcare facility planning is advantageous

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education Bachelor degree in Bio-medical Engineering, Healthcare Facilities Management, Nursing or equivalent preferred. Bachelor degree in other Sciences or Engineering would be acceptable, with appropriate experience.

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in medical equipment planning for healthcare/clinical laboratory projects.
