Job Summary

The Landscape Architect will work alongside the Design, Planning and Economics team including fellow landscape architects, design technicians and CAD drafters, completing assignments from concept inception to contract award. Assist in the preparation of landscape and urban design concepts, sketches, draiwngs, plans and models for a vroadh variety of landscape and urban design projects.

They will also assist in the preparation of project proposals in the interest of obtaining new assignments.

  • Serves as a capable professional within a landscape architectural field

  • Applies broad knowledge of landscape architecture and urban design principles

  • Develops alternate solutions and design options in support of project team

  • Develops and/or implements the results of reports, opinions, or recommendations to address design challenges/opportunities

  • Leads the development and implementation of the design ideas and solutions

  • Responsible for communication and collaboration with full design team

  • Oversees and coordinates the technical work for projects consistent with experience

  • Understands the marketing of professional services

  • Develops and leads technical approach and criteria for a design element and co-ordinates complex work

  • Assist in preparation of construction documentation and specifications

  • Ensures compliance to Quality Assurance Procedures

Specific Skills Required:

  • Promising portfolio of built work which demonstrates technical capabilities, design, visualization, and graphic skills.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and, Adobe Creative Suite software packages.

  • Experience working with 3D programs such as Studio, Rhino, Sketch-up, Lumion preferred.

  • Hand drawing skills also beneficial.

  • Organizational skills and strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Safety Competencies:

  • Lead by example, attend training, ensure resources are available. Engage with clients on safety – set client safety objectives on projects.

  • Ensure all projects have risk assessments and safety plans in place.

  • Ensure all communications are published and understood. Start all meetings with a safety moment and visibly lead by example.

Minimum Requirements

  • 4-6 experience within Landscape Architecture.

  • Chartership from an Architectural institute would be advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications

  • The applicant will hold at least a BA in Landscape Architecture and Post Graduate Dip LA with knowledge and working understanding of Landscape Visual Impact Assessment for written skill set.
