Job Summary

AECOM is seeking to hire Project Director ORAT to be based at Abu Dhabi. The Project Director ORAT serves as the senior AECOM representative and is responsible for defining and directing the ORAT strategy, approach and structure for a project, covering scope development, management and delivery across operational planning, operational readiness, activation, trials and transition.

Ensure that the clients expectations are met by monitoring and managing the overall performance of the programs and projects (contractual, financial, schedule and technical) and assumes accountability for the performance of all in-house and sub-contracted entities in the performance of the services required to deliver the contracted scope of services.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Define and develop the ORAT strategy, ORAT objectives, approach and structure

  • Direct all ORAT project teams and activities across the operational planning, operational readiness, activation, trials and transition stages

  • Communicate critical path activities that will influence key milestones and ensuring critical internal milestones are incorporated into the programme

  • Produce project reports including, monthly and quarterly reports.

  • Engage executive level operational and client stakeholders to ensure alignment of ORAT activities to achieve project objectives

  • Administrate the project operating and legal documents

  • Optimises project Safety, Health & Environmental performance and the resources and systems required for project delivery and actively supports staff professional development.

  • Manage the project financial operating performance, including invoicing, collections, cost control and optimizing GSR/NSR and margin

  • Create a working environment where teamwork is a top priority, leveraging off the benefits of providing the full range of services within AECOM

  • Ensures compliance with AECOM corporate governance and Integrated Management System

  • ORAT strategies

  • ORAT project development and delivery

  • Internationally-accepted ORAT principles and practices

  • Airport operations and performance metrics

  • Airport products, services and processes

  • Airport technology.

  • Project Governance and systems

  • Risk, Opportunity and Issue Management

  • Programme (time schedule) Management

  • Procurement, commercial / contract management, construction law

  • Project resource management

  • Strong negotiator

Additional Comments:

  • Experience in leadership and management of multidisciplinary, project management resources, in the delivery of large scale ORAT projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 20 years of related work experience, managing large scale ORAT projects with an airport operator, major consultancy, contractor or developer in the UAE and the Middle East. Project Director experience on a large scale ORAT programme or related project types is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Honours Degree in business administration, architecture, engineering, construction, project management, or similar built environment subject

  • Master of Science/Business Administration

  • Specific Project Management training and qualifications

  • Membership of a Chartered Institution (MICE / MIEAust / MCIOB / MRICS preferred)
