Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Assistant Resident Engineer - Civil to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will work closely with the Resident Engineer to oversee and manage civil engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

  • Assist the Resident Engineer in overseeing daily construction activities and ensuring compliance with project specifications and local regulations

  • Review and analyze technical drawings, specifications, and other project documents

  • Conduct regular site inspections and prepare detailed reports on project progress

  • Collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and maintain project timelines

  • Monitor and report on project budgets, schedules, and quality control measures

  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and environmental regulations on construction sites

  • Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with team members and clients

  • Assist in the preparation of change orders, contract modifications, and other project documentation

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of sustainable construction practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution

  • 3-5 years of experience in civil engineering projects, with a focus on construction site supervision

  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred

  • Proficiency in civil engineering software, including AutoCAD and Civil 3D

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills for solving complex engineering problems

  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

  • Technical report writing skills and attention to detail

  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices

  • Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in Abu Dhabi

  • Understanding of sustainable construction practices and their implementation

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements

  • Willingness to work on-site and travel to various project locations as needed
